Specified Micro-Organisms

Test for Specified Micro-Organisms

(also called TSM, test for absence of E coli, Salmonella, S aureus, Ps aeruginosa, Bile Tolerant Gram negative Bacteria etc.)

Routine quality control testing is a requirement of the European Pharmacopoeia (EP), British Pharmacopoeia (BP) and other pharmacopoeias.  We offer testing to the latest EP methods (EP methods are harmonised with the BP, USP and JP).

This test determines the presence or absence of certain named micro-organisms.  We routinely test for:

E coli, Salmonella, S aureus, Ps aeruginosa and Bile Tolerant Gram Negative Bacteria (BTGNB).

This test is commonly used in conjunction with a Total Viable Count (TVC).

We are also able to perform in-house and client specific tests for specified micro-organisms.

For licensed products the test method must be validated.  See here for more details.

For more information, technical details and sampling advice please see our Test Data Sheet.
