Pharma PET testing – Technical Information
Test: Preservative Efficacy Test (EP method)
MCS test reference: TMPh1
Quantity of sample required: 100 g
Total test time: 35 days
Test schedules:
The exact test organisms and time points used depend on the product being tested. We will confirm this with you to ensure the most appropriate test is carried out.
The test involves the inoculation of the product with some or all of the following:
Staphylococcus aureus
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Aspergillus brasiliensis
Candida albicans
E coli
Zygosaccharomyces rouxii
Along with these organisms we can also include environmental isolates that have been shown to exploit weak preservative systems. This gives the most comprehensive assessment of your preservative system.
